406 Street Motor For sale

I have a friend that has a fresh 406 he needs to sell. He wants $1200 for it . It is fresh with less than a couple hundred miles. I do not know what pistons are installed but I will find out. It has a comp cams Extreme energy kit that includes cam, lifters, springs ,etc. It has a set of 186 casting GM double hump heads that have the factory accessory holes. These are the 1969 or 1970 high performance smallblock heads. It also has Comp Cams roller tip rocker arms. The intake is a Performer RPM. He needs the money. The engine is in Bryan-College Station,Tx. If you are interested call me or email at frankm@tconline.net or 979-272-9403. He needs to sell it soon. Thanks Frank

Sounds like a good deal for someone. 186's are great (and hard to find) heads too IMO.

I talked to my friend tonight and he said the pistons are stock replacement but it should be around 9.25 to 1 compression with the heads. The crank was turned .10 and the rods resized with ARP rod bolts. The rollertip rockers are 1.52 ratio. He said the heads had hardened seats and bronze guides. They are still 1.94/1.50 valve size. The heads have a little porting but I think it was mostly to clean them up to help them flow. They are not hogged out.If anyone is interested call me .He had the motor in a Nova for a very short time. The motor has been in storage for about a year now.

Hi Brian,
I see that you must have gotten them. The 406 is from the same car the warriors are from. You can see how much run time he had on the motor. Thanks for the purchase. You seem to have a real nice stable of vehicles. Interested in a 70 RS/SS camaro to add to it?
