Crossmember swap - 73-87 into a 69'
Is this a bolt in operation? I know it's been discussed before.
My 67' has 84 chevy dropped spindles with discs. The guy who installed the spindles said he had to swap lower ball joints and it would have been much easier to swap out the whole crossmember. Any truth to that? How easy is it?

One more question, do the spindles make a difference in where your wheel sits in the fenderwell? More forward or more backaward? Does it affect backspacing on your wheels?

I am in the middle of performing this swap too. I have my crossmember bolted in.
What engine mounts did you all use? The old ones from the original crossmember (the 67-71 mounts) or did you use the newer style from the replacement crossmember? Or does it matter? Mike
