What rear end?
I have looked at a 78 Scootsdale pickup parts car and i may buy it. It is an original 5.7 Diesel scootsdale truck with a 12 bolt rearend! Witch gears did these cars have? a standard one on the trucks with 5.7 Diesel?

It should be on the id sticker in the glove box.
If not check the tag on the diff or the stamp on the casting. This site may help you. www.drivetrain.com Doug |

The majority of diesels I have seen have the 3.08 diff, but as Doug said check the Spec sheet.
