HI all this is my first post. I just got a 1987 suburban 1500 4x4 rebuilt motor and trans with 60k on them got it for a $1,000.00 not bad. well I would like to lower it so this is what I need help with can I lower a 4x4 and if I can how far I would like to do a 4 to 5 drop in the front so thanks for the help

Not possible with a 4x4.

oh, its possible, just not practical. Seeing how 4x4's sit higher stock anyhow. Get a 2wd frame and that would be a definite better start.

Sounds like you got a good score, even if you did change the frame..

Welcome to the board! This is a great place. At one time I had a '91 suburban that was lowered. Neat vehicle,... and would haul tons of people. Trade your 4x4 for a 2wd if that's what you really want! Stick around. Lolife99.

Anything is "possible" but in this case it's not practical. If you really want it lowered you should convert it to 2wd.

Welcome to them forum regardless of which way you go with it....

thank you all for the nice welcome I think I'll just have to stick a round. I work at a car dealer (dodge) in pa and it was a trade in so just had to have it thanks all talk to you all later mike

hay I was thinking can I put blocks under the front springs will that work
