What’s the final word on…..

What’s the final word on…..

• 71/72 Chevy grills – Which year/s had black outline around the headlight bezels?

• Bucket seats – Ignoring the covers, what years (67-72) are correct for a 72?

'71 had the black outline. '69 - '72 buckets are correct.

I think that the black around the headlights is on both '71s and '72s. The difference is a black strip around the outer grille.

I found this info on another site, Ray's Chevys :

1971
In 1971, the grille was changed again. The center bar was removed and a plastic egg crate style center was added. A black stripe around the outer grille was also added. The Bowtie was moved from the hood to the center of the grille. The CST trim package was dropped and a new "Cheyenne" package was introduced with the top-of-the-line trim level now being the Cheyenne Super. The parking lights were moved from the grille to the front bumper. The trucks now have front disc brakes.

1972
This is the last and probably the most popular year of this generation of trucks. The only noticeable difference between a 1971 and a 1972 truck is that the rear view mirror is now mounted on the windshield. The black stripe around the grille is removed and a new trim package, "Highlander," is offered.
