Rear fill gas tank

I looked at my 69 Chevelle gas tank last night, as a possible transplant to my 70 C20.

Anyone done this and stuffed the filler neck behind the license plate?

Don't know about the fit but the tank would have to hang low enogh for the filler neck to be above the tank. I'm thinking it would have to be mounted too low to get the filler behind the license plate.
