Oil pressure adapter

Does anybody know where the best place to mount an aftermarket oil pressure gauge adapter to get an accurate reading?I have a 72 and just dropped in a ZZ4 engine. I might T it off and have a line going to the stock gauge and one to the aftermarket gauge. Also wheres the best place to mount the water temperature sensor. Wheres the factory locations for these sensors?

The most common place for a water temp sensor mounting is in the thermostat housing neck. If yours has no hole for it, you can buy a nice new chrome thermostat housing @ your local parts store for about $10.

I know people sometimes put them in the intake manifold, right by the thermostat, although, I have never used one here myself.

Use the oil pressure port on the block right behind the intake manifold, by the distributor.

The temperature sending unit goes in the left head. There is a place for it slightly above exhaust ports 1 and 3.

Your probleem is the temp sending unit hole in your ZZ engine won't be big enough for the 72 model temp sending unit to screw into. You'll likely need to use a spot in your intake manifold for that sending unit.
