Repairing my returned stolen truck
I have a 1979 4WD Chevy 350/350turbo that I recently recovered. (It was stolen 2 years ago.) I am trying to put wires back together under the hood. My question,The wire in the bottom left hand corner coming out of the fuse box, does it go to my fuel tank(s). If so, what wires feed the volts guage? Thanks for any help I can get.

I believe it to be pink, not sure. The oil sending unit is right beside it.As far as the alternator guage, the little wire is still hooked up but I dont know which wire goes with it in the 2 wire plug-in. Thanks

Just tore up the wires and the steering column. I now have that problem fixed BUT,the lights are now not working. Blowing bulbs and turn signal and bright light indicator comes on with dash lights. Maybe a bad ground......

Just so you know -- GM used the positive terminal as the common pole on the dash bezels, not negative, make sure you wired it up accordingly...

Russell,
Thanks for the response. None of the under dash wires were damaged. Just in the column, which I replaced and the wires under the hood. The alternator, starter, and main red wires. I now have the fuel guage, alternator and other guages wired right ,BUT..., when I turn on the headlights the turn signal and bright light indicator comes on with the dashlights. My left front signal bulb blowed and the headlights quit working. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Freebird41 |
