Mounting New Buckets??? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I won these off Ebay and I'm wondering how to mount them? Here's the setup- I have a setup of aftermarket seats in the truck now that the seats mount to a square tubing frame with brackets to fit the bolts in the floor. Now if I take off the old seats and remount the new seats on that frame I'll be fine. But if I can't change them out like that then I'm guessing time to remount some holes. If I do that then how do I mount the seats securely? Just redrill and use some grade 8 bolts, washers, nuts? I want these to be secure to make sure they don't move anytime. Below are the seats I won.

When I put new seats in my sonoma, I put the seats in, marked the holes and drilled them out. I bolted them down with grade 8 bolts with about 2 inch diameter washers on both sides of the floor, and I used lock washers and lock nuts on the bottom.

Thanks for the info. What length did you use?

I don't really remember but I think that they were around 2.5 or 3 inches. Enough to go through the seat brackets, the floor, and all of the hardware and leave around an inch and a half should do.

Open up a new Jegs catalog and see the seat brackets they have in there for our trucks. Cheap too!
