Searching for Edelbrock 1406 adjustment advice

A week or two ago I read a post about adjustments on an Edelbrock carb. I can't seem to find it now in the search site. Anyone remember it or have some advice?

Here's my short list:
  • Make sure you're not supplying too much fuel pressure. I believe Edelbrocks want 5.5 lbs. More than that can cause problems. A fuel pressure regulator can be a wise investment.
  • Many folks (myself included) find that the use of a phenolic spacer between the intake and carb can help prevent heat soak (where the fuel boils out of the bowls).
  • Edelbrock recommends tuning by adjusting one IMS until you get maximum RPM (note that a dwell/tach really helps here). Reset your idle if necessary. Then adjust the other IMS screw the same way. Reset the idle if necessary. Do not go over rich (turn the screws out beyond maximum RPM).
That's what I can think of off the top of my head. Many people here have much more experience with the 'Brock than I do and I'm sure they'll chime in.

Thanks, Shuttermutt. That's where I'll start. I'm also wondering about the metering rods?
