Polishing questions

OK What is the grille made of on a 71 GMC,and what is the best way to get maximum shine out of it? It looks tarnished, and dull.
Also aluminum.I have some nice wheels that are in need of polishing, and I mean they are next to unusable they are so nasty.Black in places as they have been sitting for a while, but they are high end wheels (Some of these MO people ain't too bright ).What is the best thing to use to get these babies back to WOW!?

Eagle one aluminum wheel cleaner for the wheels. Let me know what you find out on the grill.

Are they polished aluminum? If so get some California Custom's purple polish and oxidizer. If the alumium is rough, what Tynee said.

They're supposed to be polished but mostly they're black.I'm gonna have to get somethig really agressive to get them clean.I'm not sure I can even get them back to where they look good.

What about the grille??

The GMC grills are stamped steel then chromed. And the factory chrome is pretty thin. Try an SOS pad first then use a chrome polish. I hope it works for you. I had one re-chromed and it set me back about $500.00 .

Looks like I might have to dig out the paint gun for this one then

I tried the brillo, and that is gonna take a while let me tell you,in fact it may be too late to get any good results.
