I ran a search looking for tips to restify badges. No luck. Maybe paint recommendations, ways to strip the old paint out of the recesses. I have Cheyenne 20, Super and 350 badges. Suggestions appreciated. Have all new moldings (thanks to Christians Classics). No more dough to buy new badges. Suggestions appreciated.

Real easy, soak them in solvent. I soaked some in carburetor solvent over night. Next day, the paint was gone.

Cool, I have an old can of Berrymans. What about paint? Figure a gloss white for the Cheyenne. What color red for the field of the 20 and super? Gloss or flat black on the 350 badge? Thanks.

I painstakingly painted my badges with one of those enamel model painter's kits, tiny brush and all. Next time tho, I'll just shoot them with a rattlecan to get the inside areas and wipe off the embossed (raised) lettering with thinner.

They look real good. I dunno if spraying them would be the ticket for me. I'd probably have the thinner run into the recesses and screw up the whole Maryann. Is the red just a generic red from the Testors model paint or did it have an addional name to it? I was lookin at the badges on Chevy Duty and the red looks like it has a little maroon to it? Thanks for the reply.

I've read the trick to getting paint into the deep and small areas is the use of an eyedropper (or something similar) with the emblem laying flat. I am thinking of the areas that surround the "350" badge and the inside of the Custom/10 letters. KNOWWHUTTLEMEAN?

Yup, just plain ol' "red" on the label.

I used a flag red high gloss paint from Ace for my 68 C20 badges. Will use same on my stock 68 wheel covers.

This is My Attempt at painting an emblem If i do it again Im going Paint the entire thing . And Detail the inside with a Nice color .

Went GM detailing school in Oregon some years back and the way to paint small(....)<-(that says tiny)areas, was to use matches. Tear out a match and use the torn end to paint with. It holds paint well and can be cut/trimmed to a very fine end to get into .... places.

On my C/20 emblems I used TurtleWax Chrome polish to clean 'em up, then I bought some black paint and a small pinstriping brush, and painted the line in between C/20 black. I'm gonna do the same thing that 1972C10 did with his, but I'm gonna paint the 8 and 350 dark green.

I have been thinking about removing those emblems latley I have already smoothed over where the Custom10 was Kinda looks odd being the only emblem up there.

On mine i've got the 8-350's right under the C/20's so it really doesn't look bad.

So if you repaint the GMC V-Eight badge, can you buy the new sticker for the "V - Eight" part of it? Or do you just paint it? My sticker or whatever it is has faded so bad you can barely make out the "V-Eight".

Sticker? No stickers here, embossed steel lettering on mine.
