WTB: Air Conditioning Upper/Lower Diverter Box

The flap that directs the air between the dash vents/floor and defost is broken in my truck, so I need to replace it. It is the part that the duct hoses connect to before the S-box. I don't know if it is possible to just replace the flap or if I need the whole box as listed in all the catalogs.

67sss - I sent you a PM with my cell. I'd like to get that part from you tomorrow. It is kind of hard to keep the windows fog free in the weather we were having today!

Ok - I replied just now and it edited an eariler post of mine and moved the thread back to that time in the list. What is going on?

Anyway 67sss - I sent you a PM with my cell. I'd like to get the part from you tomorrow. How much do you want for it?

Try this again

When I try to reply in this thread, it edits an earlier post of mine and moves the thread back in time in the list of topics? This is very odd.

Hopefully, this post doesn't repeat itself for all of you to see.

67sss- I'd like to get that part from you. How much do you want for it? I sent my cell in a PM.

Think he is looking for the plastic defrost/heater selector box. Mines broke too. My hack repair failed miserably and my last recreational junkyarding trip a guy was crowin about his "score". Missed it by that much! To get to the point. They are 86+- bucks new. If anyone has one after BouncyTruck gets his, I'd like one too.

He's correct on both counts....it is the diverter box, and you have to buy the unit.

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com
http://www.partszoneonline.com

Go to the website and get there phone number. They won't show the part you need on the site.

I bought mine from one of them couple of years ago, just don't remember which.

New shipped to me on the west coast was about half of what was wanted here....

BE AWARE, the aftermarket replacement Diverter box is not original GM quality. I bought one from "Gray's Truck Parts" a few years ago and within a year the rubber was falling apart. I have been told that the GM replacement from GM is also not original quality. Mine was junk within 2 years.
Many original boxes had a tendancy to get out of square relative to the plastic as well. I've had best luck finding a good orignal in a junk yard, at a meet, or from the board/e-bay. You can typically find a good original for under $25 and it is well worth it compared to buying new overseas junk for $80+. Make you check the plastic for square and the flapper for being complete, not broken and moveable. Good luck

Here is LMC's illustration of the AC system. I circled the part I need (#10)

67sss - let me know if you have the part. Are you going to the Monroe Swap Meet Saturday?
