Fuel Pump problem

On my 90 Burb, I think the fuel pump took a ****. So i un-did the fuel line at the filter, had the wife crank the truck over and there wasn't any fuel coming out of the line. Question is how can I be sure it's the pump? Could the relay have gone bad? Is there a way to test it? My "check engine" light hasn't come on yet.

Thanks!!

You should get fuel pressure just by turning the key on since the pump is electric on the 1990. Yes, the relays do go bad (unfortunately, so do the pumps). The relay should be under the hood on the firewall on the passenger's side near the cowl. It's pretty easy to change. Check the fuse too. Sometimes thumping on the bottom of the fuel tank can kick start a failing pump. I don't believe the computer will generate a code for a bad pump.

Hey thanks for the help, I replaced the relay and I think that solved the problem. Won't know for sure till I drive it some more. Funy thing- I'd start it up and go anywhere, but after I shut it off, it wouldn't restart for about 2 hours. First thought was vapor lock, but even with the gas cap off and everything it still wouldn't start...
