Tilt interchangeablility
So what will work in these trucks? Will the one from a 75 1 ton van work? It looks nearly the same, the turnsignal plug is the same. The van also uses the same doorhandles and armrests,(if that matters).
Also how much trouble is it to change it over? TIA

Very likely. I know for sure bigger stuff like Frito Lay trucks and mail trucks used the same column for many years later than our trucks did.
My column is out of an 82 motorhome. Straight in swap for an easy, cheap tilt. |

As far as van tilts go, 72 - 81, and early 82's will come real close to bolting right in.

you may have to shorten your lower steering shaft.. If it's the colapsable kind,, take it out & smak the bottom part on a floor. I did it today, and it worked. ( some van columns are a bit longer than truck columns)

That's right, if you have a 67 or 68, then you'll need an intermidiate shaft off a 69 - 72...then smack it on the floor like Mr Gas said, and slap it in. You'll also need to relocate the neutral safety switch...or just by pass it. IMO you almost have to be an idiot to accidently start it in gear.
