'67-'72 Trucks more popular than ever?
I was at work yesterday and I drive my '71 C-20 since I had to take a 55 gal. drum to work for one of my co-workers..............Anyhow, I was working and as soon as I seen the guy who wanted the drum I told him to go out and get it off my truck. He went out the door and I didn't see him for a while. Then all of a sudden he came running back in.................."IS THAT TRUCK YOUR DAD's?!!!!!" I said "NO, That is one of my later purchases to compliment my fleet" He asked if it was for sale, and before I could answer he said a dollar amount that was double what I paid for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I said, "Well, that is interesting but I can't get rid of the old girl"
He went on to tell me that he had a '66 setup alot like mine and he was sorry he got rid of it...........He never had a '67-'72 and he said if the '66 was good that he couldn't imagine what a '71 would be like! Anyhow he wants to be the first one to know if I sell it. I probably should have sold it, but I really like the old girl! Anything like this happen to you guys lately? I found it odd since I have alot of people wondering why I don't have a newer pickup........

my neighbors girlfriend (who i had never met untill...) came up and just started talking to me about my truck, what year, what motor, and if i wanted to sell it. she is some big car chick, she has a 69 gto judge full resto, older jag with a tpi 350 swaped in, fromula 350 fire bird, and others that i havent seen yet. she always asks if i want to sell it. and i always respond "Nope i dont want to be that guy that says i wish i still had that truck" today i was driving home and a 68 camero pulled up next to me and reved his motor, then i let him know what i had . sometimes you get it alot and others you dont. i went 2 weeks with atleast one prerson asking me about my truck a day.

i only ever had like 2 old guys ask about my truck, and once when I was getting gas 2 guys jumped out of a ford escape and had their hands around each others waists, and were asking me about it. so, only the gays and gramps like my truck.

They ought to be getting more popular. I've taken a bunch of junk ones and put them back together and onto the road again in the last few years.

Even with the 100Lbs. of bondo people have asked if I wanted to sell mine, and I think it's pretty ugly.

When mine was on the road I got asked probably once a week if I'd sell it. I gave my standard "everyting I own is for sale for the right price"... so far no one offered me enough to unload it. The most recent was a guy who pulled into my driveway with a rollback trying to buy my truck... that was before I tore it apart. He only offered $1500 to which I smiled and said no thanks pal.
Don't forget that there are many people who don't realize that these trucks have become so popular for rebuilds. Some people will let them go for chicken scratch and are thrilled that some one was interested in their old beat up truck.

Lots of people will ask if something is for sale (some that don't have 2 nickels to rub together) but are they offering anything? Most want it for a song. Most never offer an amount and are hoping your stupid. Lots of tire kickers.
I used to get asked about my cars/trucks all the time but it hardly ever happens anymore. I think most realize these vehicles no longer sell for a few hundred so they don't bother. Example would be my '63 Impala. I used to get at least 15 or so every summer but for the past few years, almost none.

when I take mine to the shop on the weekends there is 2 boys about 10 or 12 years old that say "nice truck!, is it for sale?". I think it is a wonderful thing that these younger kids can appreciate old iron instead of some honda with a fart pipe. bad thing though is I have to respond with "no, I'm sorry. I had to wait 20 years for this one. there is a lot of them out there for sale though."
