Rear Wire Loom Setup

I have gotten around to putting on the wire looms that go in the back near the bellhousing. Now according to the assembly manual the open ends of the looms are supposed to be pointing to the firewall. Is this accurate? With the pair that I have the passenger side (open end) is pointing to the firewall but the driver side (open end) is pointing toward the radiator. Is there a right and left rear wire loom and I just happen to have two rights? Thats sounds weird now after I read it. Heres a pic of what I mean. Imagine the carper is a engine

Thanks
