Late model seats

I've heard a few discuss putting a bench seat from '99-'04 in a '67-'72 truck and I'm wondering how the leg room is with that set-up. When I installed an aftermarket captain's chair-style bench, the back of the seat was so much thicker than my stock bench that it took away a couple of inches of leg room even in the all the way back position. I'm only 6'1" but it really made a long drive uncomfortable. I had to take it back and just re-cover my original. I really like the newer style with the integrated seat belts, though. Any thoughts?

I have the seats you are talking about. I think I lost a little leg room, but the seat is tilted up a little so I think that helps compensate. I am the same height as you, and I really like the seats. I drove my truck from Brookings to Indy and back (1600 miles round trip), and from Brookings to Chicago (1200 miles round trip) and back and had no complaints. I would not go back to my bench.

I have that seat in my truck. The 40/20/40 version. I don't have the seat mounted yet. I have to get the tank out from behind the seat first! The console doesn't go back far enough with the tank in place. I think you will lose a little leg room. I am 5 10 and it is fine with me!

Mine are out of a 2000 I believe. They are not power. For the Indy trip I had my tank in the cab and for the Chicago trip I did not. I think removing the tank may have given me an extra inch, but I didn't really notice. It was comfortable for both trips.

I paid $275 at a local rebuildable yard. Leather were about $500, but I was stupid and took the wife along so leather will have to wait.

Has anyone ordered seats from these guys? I think I like the Titan Sport style.

I have a late model 60/40 bench with the fold down center consol. It's out of a 01 Chevy. It's grey cloth I paid $450 for it from a wholesaler locally. I need to sell it because it just won't work with the six speed setup I have right now. If someone is interested send me a PM... It is super confortable IMO.

I just won these seats off of EBAY last week and the best part is I won them for $75. I don't know if he titled them wrong and I just came up on them or what. I'm in the Nashville area and the seats were in the Atlanta area. One of my dispatchers at the police dept. has a girlfriend in Atlanta and he goes and sees her every other weekend. So he went down in his S10 and picked them up. They have been in my garage since Monday morning. They're a little dirty, but no tears or rips. I think they will clean up nice. The only thing that I'll have to get in the plastic cover and handle on the driver's side. I can't wait until I get my truck back from NADC.
