EGR .... Help!
I am puttign a new EGR on my truck 86 Chevy half ton with a 305. problem is, it comes with about 20-30 washers to 'calibrate' the thing. well, the top of the EGR has been ripped off, so I have no numbers to go by. If someone could be so kind as to pop the hood on their 81-86 (86 if possible) emmisions truck and tell me what the number reads on the top of the EGR canister, I would greatly appriciate it!
Thanks!

check out the Tomco website. Do a search for your year, it will list the egr numbers used so you can match up the correct washer. I had to do the same thing...

the top part of the EGR. I looked up the numbers and came up with about 20 different numbers. I threw it on, we'll see how it works!
Anyone know where on the carb I hook up the vacuum line for the EGR? Thanks

Hook it to a ported source. Ported is vacuum above idle. In other words, no vacuum at idle.

Careful. On my 85, when it had a carb. the vac advance was connected to manifold vacuum if you plumb it according to the emission sticker. If you have a stock qjet, there is a port labeled J that you want to connect it to.

I was assuming he had the distributor hooked to ported vacuum. You are correct. Make sure what vacuum the distributor is hooked to. You don't want the EGR hooked to manifold vacuum for sure.
