Rusted floor pan
After only 2 years since I prepped and painted my cab inside and out I just discovered that my floor pan as rusted through. It is located where the pan is somewhat creased and starts to bend up to the firewall. Does anyone know if the floor pans that we can buy include this area. How are the pans attached (stiched welded and sealer?). Thanks as always!

The patch panels go up about 4 inches or so after the bend. I am going to weld mine. I am curious how did you prepare your cab when you did the work last time? Did you have your cab off the frame? Did you take it down to bare metal? What kind of paint did you use? Sorry for all the questions but many of us are in this process and want to learn what does and what doesn't work. It sounds like might have found something that doesn't work...this is very valuable info! Is your truck a daily driver? What state and city do you live in...salt?

The cab floor pan prep was as follows: -wire brushed using a brush and a drill -coated with osphos to turn the remaining small amount of rust to metal -rustolium primer (may be my problem) -PPG paint inside and out ( I'm not sure what primer the body shop used for the outside of the cab) -cab was on the frame I drive the truck once or twice a week and live in a relatively dry climate in Los Angeles.
