882's arent as bad as everyone makes them out to be Ive seen more 906 Vortec Heads Cracked Between the Cylinders Than ive seen 882s cracked

882s are a heavy weight head . Newer heads are lightwieght IMO not as good.

882's come with either 1.94s or 1.72s Chevrolet Casting Numbers Are Worthless As Tits On a Bore Hog .. They give you a general idea but The Only way to tell is to look. Same on the engine Bolt Main Casting.

Ive had a 4 Bolt 3970014 and 2 Bolt 3970010 Both Contradicts what the books and mortec say.



Ands 624s are total garbage As far as the Crack Proned heads go

Dont get them Ungodly Hot and you Wont Have a problem.
