Steering column wiring harness question

Do the after-market steering columns wiring, plug into the original wiring harness as advertisied, such as the CPP or Billet Specilties without any problems. If I'm gonna spend $500.00 I would like to think everything will work. I'm very close to completing my 71' swb/stepside. Pictures are soon.

Welcome to the forums!
While I have never bought one, nor even looked at one, I'm willing to bet a punch in the gut that the after market columns have the later style plug, which is flat. You can get am adapter from flat to horse shoe shaped connector at the dealer...although, I don't have the P/N here.
Are you going after market just for a tilt, or you wanting the chrome finish, or what.
If it is just for the tilt, you can get a van tilt that will look 99% original for WAY cheaper than that. (and look stock to all but the sharpest observer)

Tilt and chrome. I feel 90% sure it will work but just wanted another opinion.

Yeah, the adapters are common...just ask what kind of turn signal harness plug does it have. I think that as long as the column is only equipped with the basics (no wiper controlls, stereo controlls, air bags, TV moniters...ect) and it is just a turn signal and 4 ways...it'll be the flat plug as on the 73 & up columns.

I found Early classic Enterprises have original wiring harness etc with all original connectors. They may be pricing but you may want to check with them. I was checking on the rear harness for my 68. 49.00 from fire wall to rear then 79.00 on to the fixtures. They stated the bulb recep would come out of old base and in with the new. Just a thought. I had to call them as could not find these items listed on web site. 1.888 number in lower left hand corner
