whats the biggest size tire i can go with--no lift

hey guys im looking for some tires to put on my 71 gmc 4x4 i just bought, how big can i go without rubbing? i dont plan on any crazy 4 wheeling, mostly just a daily driver and a bit of fishing/camping, i guess i should also add that im planning on getting some ralleys, so the rims will be 8 inches wide

thanks, Derek

I have 33x12.5's on 15x8" rims with 3.73" BSing on my truck, I have 3 leaf springs in the front also and that raises the front and makes the truck sit pretty level with the rear, no rubbing as of yet, but it hasn't been off-road either, seems like may rub with lots of flex and no swaybar.

I think 32x11.5" tires would clear with no rubbing, 33x12.5's may rub some, just depends on how low your truck is sitting, and wheel combo and the actual measurement of the tire.

I think 3/4 ton's sit higher. A 1/2 ton should be tucked up nicely.

i had 33x12.5's on my stock 69 K-20 and there was plenty of room...

right now (actully today...) i put 33's on my 71 K-10 (factory HD front springs) and they fit, there close in the front, but they dont rub. i havnt been off road yet... i bet they'll rub then. i was going to put helper springs in the front and maybe a 2" block in the back... just so the res a little more room

and... on my friends 86 K-10 we put 35x14.5 "gumbo monster mudder" (looks like a knock off of tsl's) and they fit... but the front fenders rub if he turns hard... man, do those things throw mud!!! we ran water in his field for about 1/2 hour, till it was real muddy and went and tore thorugh it...it was sweet

heres my stock 71 K-10, with 33's on it, definately sits shorter than a 3/4 ton. it soesnt rub, but it looks like it could if i hit the right pothole or somthing. i think my truck needs about 2" lift and then just do the body and it'll be good enough for daily drivin.

Here is my 72 which has no lift and 32x11.50x15's on it. It is saggy in the back, due to my 400 SBC in the bed.

what kind of tires are they? Only 31x12.5" tires I know are pro comps, but I don't look around too much, I thought about putting some 31x12.5's on mine myself.
