You could try this.....

www._make_templates_out_of_carbboard_.com

or

www._building_from_the_seat_of_your_pants_.com

Both of those have worked great for me in the past on similar projects.

The point I was trying to make, is sometimes it's much easier to just get under the truck with cardboard and scissors and make templates and build them.

I'm speaking from experience here. I've done a good bit of streetrod fabrication. None of it was ever done with a computer though. It always involved laying on my back under the truck.

Sure it may be easier to you, but that wasn't the question that was asked.

I too have done alot of fabrication (street rods and more) and I have found that the use of a Cad/Cam system is much easier and faster than poster board and scissors when one knows how to use it.

Not meant as a "flame" and I can appreciate your experience Firefighter, but Guitar ask a simple quesion about an ACAD file ... one that others, like myself, would also like answered.

Thus the reason for my "hijacked" comment. There were 5 replies to this post that had absolutely nothing to do with ACAD files. They only wasted time and space.

Again, not meant as a flame ... just my "take on things." Heck, I made my "first" bag templates from cardboard.

Shane, no flame taken.

As a matter of fact, your point is right on. My reponse was not relevant to his request.

Guitar, it is good practice to draw everything at full scale in cad, it avoids confusion. This goes for mechanical drawings, not architectural drawings.
