69-70 grill... info, strike???

ok, so theres this decent 69 c-20 here in town with a decent body, the cab is not perfect, but better than mine, so i figured i could buy it and swp it on my 4x4 frame.

anyway, this guy in my town has it, and eamiled this link to me, it what he posted on another forum... read down a few lines and you see some guy say "thats a rare 1970 grille, they quit making it because of a strike"

im not saying i dont belive this, but never heard it? is it true??? not that big of deal i just thought it was interesting. what would a 69 2wd with no motor/trans be worth? i was thinking a couple hundered? they guy was paid to take it away, not that im trying to get it free cause he did, but just curious what it woul be worth...oh and he said it has no title. if that matters

yes there was a strike in 70, but there were plenty of 70 grills put out.
No engine/tranny/TITLE...100 or less IMO.

One guy said that it was exclusive to the 70 models only.

But, we know better it was 69 and 70.

Yes, for the outer grill. The real question is what's the inner grill look like?

Whew I was about ready to start harvesting the grilles I have in the parts trucks

Too bad it don't have a title, that drops the value conciderably.100-150 unless you really need some parts that are on it,then it might be worth a bit more.

The 69 and 70 models do have a different innner grill.
I do not think that the 70 inner grill as on the truck pictured is produced aftermarket.
Rare:somewhat
If someone was doing a bone stock restore on a 70 model truck then it may be worth more to them.

...or Brian Smith right?

I'm with everything Hutch said. Inner grille would be the rarest item...but only to those who really care or desire it...

The inner grille (if nice), might be worth 100 bucks to the right person. They were a 70-only thing (and look much better than the 69 inner IMO)

I bought a mint 70 inner from a guy on here for my Dads truck, it cost about $100 and I think I got a REAL good deal. To buy a repro 69 inner would be more then that. The chances of finding an inner 70 that isnt cracked or beat up are very slim.
