Hard to say without pics. I paid $2500 for my 71 Deluxe LONG BED. If I knew where I could find another in as good shape for the same price, heck yeah I'd sell it for $4500 and go buy the next one and have some spare change!
Yet when I see these for sale up here in Nor-Cal, I think that $4-5K is usually a pretty typical asking price for something in good shape. I'd think one in good shape would go for more down there. So yes, pics would help us help you. Everything has it's price they say...

How about this. If thats the truck in your avtar sell the rims and the bed and try to find a swb roller frame and swap everytihng over. Or find a frame and cut the bed down to fit.

That's a tough one. If the truck has some personal value to you I would say no. You always regret it after the fact especially when you see somebody else enjoying your old ride.
If it has no real personal value to you and you really need the money then I would say go for it. The only question that I have is why would you sell your truck that is in really good shape just to look for another just like it? If you were getting close to 10 grand for it I could see it but for $4500 I don't think that you're gonna make much off of the deal when you are looking for a truck in similar condition. As a matter of fact if it is the truck in your avatar that you are talking about than $4500 seems about ballpark. I think that you are probably giving the guy a pretty decent deal. It seems like more of a headache than it is really worth. If it were me I wouldn't sell it.
