BugzC10,
what did you do to restore your rims and center caps ? I have a set that I want to do for my daughter's C10 and I was planning on having them powder coated.

I sanded, paint stripper, wire wheeled, primed and painted the wheels, inside & out. I would have power coated, but there's not shops convienient. I tapped or re- tapped (cleaned the treads) all of the center cap bolt holes. Only 3 of the 5 center cap bolt holes are threaded, so tapped the other 2 for ease of installation. I scrapped off the original Chevy emblems and stripped of all the OEM paint on the center caps. Polished the chrome center caps. Replace the center cap emblem with some New OEM emblems I found on this site. I purchased some stainless steel wide shoulder button head allen screws to attach the center cap. Installed new ~1.75 Pollished SS beauty rims. Went with 1.75 because the fronts are only 6.5 wide. Considering going with some 2.5-3" on the rear. Finished off the look with crome Gorilla Locking lugs.

Re: Post those wheels gallery

Probably the worst place to take a picture, in a dark garage. I couldn't wait any longer to put a wheel on with this cold weather and all. They are 20x8.5 Boss 313's. They were very budget friendly on craigslist. They came with tires and a good size that would fit (275/45/20) and that are brand new. I couldn't pass it up, and like the design of the rim. The chrome was pitted pretty bad. I sprayed them with plasti-dip and a gloss clearcoat. I never thought I would resort to that, but it covered up really well.

Sorry for the delay. I've been working on my truck every spare minute I have trying to get on the road. I'm painting it a charcoal metallic color. In my build thread, pg 10 post 244, I have the interior and firewall painted. I painted the insides of the doors last night. I'll try and update my build this weekend.

Famous,

Your truck's absolutely beautiful the way she sits. But, everyone takes their coffee differently...So, I couldn't help but make your ride *mine*.

Re: Post those wheels gallery

Dude...no problem!
Honestly, the truck does sit lower than this pic actually shows but not low enough for me and actually dropped spindles and blocks for the rear are coming in a week!! That will actually put the front half an inch over the tire in the front and the rear will sit right at the top of the tire.

Believe me, I photoshop every single pic I take. I have every one of them saved as normal and then a second photoshopped with it dropped! Lol. Some sitting like it "should" sit once the components are on and others slammed as if air ride. I was contemplating air ride forever but just don't want to sink the $$$ in it at this point.

Here are some examples of both...First is with air and the second is hopefully where it will actually be??

I hear you. Mine will never be as low as shot #2 or as high as #3. Gotta make her work some in the garden/yard. And, she's not a 4 x 4......and I'm too short and old....

Some of the guys and gals on the Forum have it right...We all need more than one truck!!!

For me, I already have too much in RAT. I'm a one-truck-guy. But I love 'em all.

No photos just yet. New addition to the family (daughter) is taking most of my attention right now.
