Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!
before my truck couldnt do a burnout cause i couldnt tune my engine if my life depended on it, plus i was runnin my vac advance on ported vacume. but after sittin by butt down reading about it i can do awsome burnouts, but i dont do big ones anymore, tires can cost big money up here.

huh wierd, every burnout i did i ended up spinning the passanger tire, i should start looking for some junk tires to burn

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!
now i see the tire. was it because a open diff, and what motor was that? And i think it because its lighter on the passanger.
i might have to barrow 2 stock tires to see if i can do a burnout like that. mine does small ones with 35s.

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!
It has to do with torque and the rotation of the drive train, as to why the passenger tire is almost always the one that lets loose in RWD open diff cars.
These are some burnouts: |

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!
Occasionally the truck would pull a posi. Especially when I 1st started driving it. I layed some serious pairs of stripes at a car meet.
But now it will only step out a little when it's really wet. |

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!
Even open diffs will spin both tires if you get them a little sideways. Yes that is a video camera strapped to the roof

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!
I dunno if I had a posi that's really worn, or the open diff was just really stiff after sitting for years on end. I haven't pulled the inspection cover to look.
And these Dana 60 posi's are expensive! But a few times when I get into hard enough when wet both will let go and it gets fun. But, I don't do that much any more (got new tires) so, gotta try again when I have a posi... Last edited by texanidiot25; 04-27-2009 at 11:06 PM. |

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!
Nice, what i like to do is put a 215/60R15 tire on the right rear(i run 235/75R15) and it pretty much overloads the tire which equals lots of smoke! i usually dont do burnouts but more of long peel outs. Also if you do it on a hill they like to burn for twice as long.

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!
that is extremly rare, i dont think ive ever even heard of one ever before.
aha well its definatly one way to filter out the good from the bad. i dont mind if maybe they are scared to ride in it... scared and embarrassed are two different things
