Re: Header Solution
That's 2 for 2 with aluminum heads.
What's "funny" is both of you JUST received your headers and both happen to be using aluminum heads. |

Re: Header Solution
I've put a set of these on my 4x4 K5. Great quality header. However, these will not clear a stock 4wd engine crossmember without modification. Ultimately, I ended up modifying a DIY4X engine crossmember to make them work. FWIW, I am also running aluminum heads. Details of the mods I made can be found in my build thread (see link in my sig)

Re: Header Solution
Are there any pics of the BB Stainless pics available yet. Also, what size
collectors are being used with them. I'm ready to pull the trigger on a set. Thanks, S.T. |

Re: Header Solution
Just mounted my headers on the 72 402/th400. They do not fit with the stock linkage. What after market shift linkage do you run with the headers?
Thanks again, mike chopp |

Re: Header Solution
I used ECE's. It doesn't sit further back, but the design makes room for the exhaust to go over top. Looks like the BB headers are longer and go further back.

Re: Header Solution
Hmmm...same problem here Weircc. Just installed mine today..BB/w 3'' ball
collector. After the initial shock ...I thought I could solve the problem by ordering the ECE trans mount. But now, after seeing Hart Rod's with the mount installed, I don't believe that will fix the problem (could be wrong) I only have about an inch and a half before the ball of the header touches the tranny mt. The headers sit just low enough that it is questionable if the ECE mt. will fix the issue. I have attached a few pics so maybe someone can help with a solution. Only thing I know to do at this point is to have a custom trany mt. made |
