Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear

Randy, bit by bit you will slowly get the bugs worked out. Hopefully you have a hook up to get the electronics figured out. Gonna be sweet when you do as your not going to want to get out of the truck from driving it!!

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear

Well ...
Electrical bug in the digital read outs for the air bags and we think it's a bad sensor.....have one to swap out tomorrow. Hooked up the plate light and a few last min things and it's pretty much buttoned up now. The headlights work but it'wierd...when on low beam they are fine, on high beam they kind of pulse...We think it's the switch and we picked up a new one toay.....so hope thats fixed as well.

Tomorrow they say it shifts oneway or another....I have the TCI stand alone...bu they say the computer i have will do it tomorrow....here is hoping it's the last thing holding me back....

is that why your user name is wutnxt? cause it seems like there is a new problem every post! Win some lose some that is for sure. I realized how illegal my trailer is if I ever get pulled over. So I gotta dump a ton of money into it to make it legal. So I'm hearing ya. Breaking down on the highway is the worst. A few years ago when I was towing a frame and cab with a tow dolly and a 2x4 s10 4banger, I hit a terrible snow storm. the load swerved so bad I almost wrecked. I was white knuckles for over two hours when the trip was one hour with good weather. I had to stop short on that trip. Can't wait to see some footage of the truck cause its a nice truck man.

Randy glad everything is ok except for the trailer. I know how u feel as it happened to me on my way from Medicine Hat when I was building my 68GMC. Its definitely frusterating.

Honestly...With the LS2 and the 480LE....it feels scarey. I didn't think it was going to be that fast...and with the power rack I haven't had a chance to get all the way up on it just yet. It's been raining too much here to open it up, with those 14" wheels on the back it breaks loose way to easy.

I dropped off the trailer today at the spring shop and told them to replace all of the ubolts on all the axles. I could have done it myself but i am so sick of changing tires and pulling wrench on it i needed the seperation from it....lol It could have been way worse and i shouldn't whine about it...I could have lost the trailer and 58 either of those times...

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear

Well live is back on trac and i drove the 58 for awhile yesturday....Let me say this...if you hav seen some of my other threads i have lots of crazy and fast rides. But this 58 is at the top of m list..
-That power rack set up was a pain to get back together and in but wow is it sensative and fast to respond.
-Speed....That thig is stupid fast and i haven't even opened it all up yet.
-That 4L80E is a wicked shift when hooked up to the TCI EZ TCU
- I would recommend the combo and I would use it again in a heartbeat....I can't wait till summer comes and I get a chance to get back on it..

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear

Well intresting fact i learned today.....

I have a 18 foot tilting kimbel trailer i bought 2 years ago new...they have since stopped making trailers apparently. It has 2" wide springs but they used 1-3/4" back plates that the u bolts go through....and they torched out the holes at the factory to get the u bolts to fit. So there wasn't enough plate left around the holes and they all have stress cracks in them.....I could have lost all of the axles....and am really lucky only one let go....Now what do you think of that ?
