1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear
Well I am currently building a 1958 apache short box fleetside that I found sitting in a warehouse for 15 years.....
I have a few other projects on the build so the 58 has been sitting in my yard for awhile and I was thinking of giving it a power steering upgrade and a disc brake upgrade but leaving it a straight axle...

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear
But after doing some research and going over the numbers I found a c-4 front and rear set up....and then I found the kit that flat out makes.....It all sounded good .....and seemed to be the best bang for the buck....
It took several calls before I finally got it order....Once it was shipped the kit arrived quickly.

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear
After the math was all done we decided that we wanted it to sit a little lower......So yes we decided to inset the kit into the frame to get it about another 2 inches lower.....and then to bag it ...

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear
We found a trailblazer with 17,ooo km on it ...which is almost new...so we went for that....included in the deal was all the part to go from a trailblazer to a corvette LS 2.....so we swapped the AWD tranny for a 480 4 speed automatic....it came with everything from the harness to the pedal....In the end we had to find our own intake set up for it but it's a work in progress...I did some digging and found the LS 2 pan conversions and it didn't take long to decide we needed the muscle car pan set up....the local chevy dealer had it in stock and it was all good to go .....

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear
I have built lots of 64-66 chevy trucks.....lot's of'em . I have 3 in build right now.....this is my first 58 but by far the best body I have ever seen on anything I have ever worked on. The floor is mint....never touched...the rockers and box sides are mint and never touched.....it's so much easier to build a project that doesn' need to spend months in a body shop. The paint is far from great but I plan to put alot of miles on it and i like i just the way it is.

Re: 1958 LS2 with C4 front and rear
Can't wait to see it done, looks like it will be super fun to drive. Can't imagine going lower. I reused the stock vette K member and made my own rear brackets and it only has about 5" clearance on the front. Already road rashed the underside of the bumper! I will tell you this... it rides great. You'll be happy with it. Did you get a dana 44 rear or go with a 36?

Wow! Nice find there on the "58. I love the "task force" fleetsides. Looks like you have a plan. I'll be watching this one closely to see how you progress. Keep the photos coming.
