The seat will be just under the rear window when it's mounted. I plan on the 68 buckets in the front and have the rear made to match them.

Re: 68 Four door build

Well I hate to admit it but I went to work on the truck at 5PM sunday night and just got home at 5 AM monday morning and all because I didnt like the way the hinges work on the passenger rear door.
So I cut up a perfect 3rd door, I really didnt like doing that but its too late now.

12 hours later and all I have to show is a butcherd up door that works now.
On the inside of the door I still plan on using a full window so I need all the room I can get in there for the window to come down and not hit any thing.

Re: 68 Four door build

A few more pictures.

It doesnt show it here but I cut the front part of the door out and installed the rear part of a drivers door with the latch in it.

Re: 68 Four door build

Maybe I'm seeing the pictures wrong, but are both of the rear doors hinged the same way, or does one open forward and the other open rearward?

I mounted the front hinges so the door sat where it should originally while I put the rear hinges in the general area they should be. I will take more pictures today and it will make more sense.

Isn't that the truth.

Great work, you're making it look really easy. Although we all know it's not.

Re: 68 Four door build

I know you say you feel like you're moving slow but this really is tremendous progress. This isn't a simple build.....you're not only doing a restoration...you're engineering new parts. Nice work!
