Re: 67c10 build

Very nice build! We are moving along very similar paths, just a few differences. I really like the blue poly paint color! I'm subscribed...

Re: 67c10 build

Ok ok so it's no secret I've been neglecting my thread. I had to go back to see where I left off and a lot has changed. If anyone could tell me how to upload multiple pics through iPad/iPhone this would be a lot easier. Hope you guys like what I've done

Re: 67c10 build

Looks like a lot my pics are on my old phone so I kind of have to jump around. After putting my truck together I was not happy with the height of my drop. I figured the only way I would be happy is if I went with air bags.

I started with cups and plates, aired out it had the perfect stance but at ride height it was still too high. I decided to go with a set of cpp tubular control arms to lose that 2" cup and in the end get a lower ride height.

For air management I went with accuair switchspeed with dual compressors. I made up some flat plate and got all my stuff mounted out back.

Re: 67c10 build

Rough mock up of how I will have everything. Pretty rare around here but I will be sticking with the old school in cab tank so this was a perfect space

The gf got me some good bday presents, this rear bumper was one of them. Also rear bumper brackets, bolt kit and rear cross sill. Helps when they help support our addiction

Re: 67c10 build

I also switched from v belt to the mid mount billet specialties serpentine. I was having too many problems trying to get alt/ps setup to work together. If anyone is consider this kit I'd rate it a 10/10 it seriously mounts in 5 minutes and is very well laid out. Very pleased with all my billet specialties products

Re: 67c10 build

I've also been working on some of the small this on the truck. I guess you can say "restoring" I took my cluster apart, re painted everything and put it back together with a new lense, bulbs, circuit and bezel. All from counterpart and very happy with fit and finish. I sent my tach to redline gauge because the face was rusty. They re silk screened the face. I also added a vacuum and 80lb oil pressure gauge I picked up from another member.

Re: 67c10 build

I know the purists will roll there eyes but I cut up another cluster to make my other one accept a vacuum gauge. You would never guess by looking at it and I saved a few bucks I can use else where. I also found on YouTube how to roll the speedo back. Being a 50 year old truck and it's going through a few restore I figure it will be ok

Re: 67c10 build

Started rust repair on the cab. Got a 3k quote for metal work so figured it was my time to learn. Passenger side needed inner rocker, kickpanel, cab corner, lower jambs front and rear and outer rocker

Re: 67c10 build

Wasn't as scary as people made it out to be. Majority of the time is just fitting and shaping it with tons of tacks to get panel alignment right on

Re: 67c10 build

The lower jamb piece I thought turned out great. I had a few hours fitting it but welded it up and hit it with some 36 grit pads and it cleaned up nice
