Re: '72 Chevy SWB, Project Driver
Nice work man. It looks like you are so close to having everything gathered up to make this baby run. I am gonna use an inline pump too I think. You remember what year the fuel regulator was added to the fuel rail? You are using the corvette filter/regulator right?
I am looking forward to getting started on my engine install. Getting burned out on this chassis build if you know what I mean. Once it's rolling than I will feel like I'm getting some where. |

Re: '72 Chevy SWB, Project Driver
Thanks guys. Yes that WIX filter is the vette filter/reg. Returnless started in 04, vans were a little late in 05 or 06.

Re: '72 Chevy SWB, Project Driver
Sure borrow away! More than likely the ideas you speak of were stolen from someone else We really need to have a board meet this year during crusin. I tried to get one going last year, but failed lol.
Got the OBDII port mounted and finally got the radiator in for good with the trans cooler mounted and plumbed. |

Trans cooler mounted and plumbed. OBDII port, still got to hook it up. Threw on the plug wires and exhaust flanges with O2 sensors. Got the fuel line in. Still rusty, I'll clean it all up once I can back the truck out and pull the bed. Pump in there. List, 1, Wire fuel pump. 2, Wire OBDII port 3, Hook up MAF 4, Change oil+filter 5, Change trans filter+fluid 6, Add coolant 7, Enlarge hole in firewall and mount/plumb hydroboost 8, Turn key and pray! Also found out my drive shaft will work at its current length so all I need is a conversion U joint! |

Re: '72 Chevy SWB, Project Driver
For open manifolds, she isn't that loud. No coolant so I didn't let it run long. Air intake is VERY temporary

Re: '72 Chevy SWB, Project Driver
Thanks! She smooths out the more it runs. The software is ElmScan, its a scan tool that allows you to view data and read and clear codes. It doesn't have "tuning" capability like HPtuners or EFI live.
More info on it http://www.scantool.net/elmscan5-compact.html I bought it on amazon for $40 Amazon.com: ElmScan 5 Compact USB OBD-II Scan... |
