Re: No Limit '72 C-10

Rob

Now that you are closer to being done and tuned are you planning on offering a total C10 package for the DIY guys basically 1 stop shopping front to rear for all the parts maybe with some directions for the A arm mods as well as frame bracing. I have a 65 SB Stepside I want to make handle but I don't want to do the trial and error shopping system if you get my drift. I'd really like to just do the work and have somebody else who has a clue figure what works.

Thx M5

Saw this in action this weekend at Del Mar. AWESOME! Totally love the vehicles you guys have. Can't wait to make a trip up to Adams to watch you run on a bigger track.

Nice work! The truck handled nicely on the autocross. It was cool talking to you guys at goodguys last weekend. Looks like you will have some nice products coming out soon for these trucks.

Re: No Limit '72 C-10

Just read through your guinnea pig build, it's quite a process you've got going on! Thank you for sharing!

One question, any reason you don't run a double shear mount for the panhard bar on the frame end? Especially pushing the truck through the track I can only relate to the inlaw's circle track racing addiction that I've been caught up in the past few years.

Re: No Limit '72 C-10

Race Report We stacked up another Win in Del mar this weekend with the 55 Bullit, with a quick lap of 34.144 sec. Our friends from Dueces Wild ran Rob McEwens 67 F-100 to a 35.153 for 2nd, and our beloved J.T. ran a 36.647 for 3rd. (a trans controler and seatbelts would REALLY help). Rob Phillips 69 C-10 ran a 34.557 for Hotchkis in the vendor class, for 5th place. We drove the JT from San Berdoo to Del-Mar, about 90 miles. It ran at 75mph with no problem, and rode and handled great. We got 22 mpg on the way down, and 23 on the way home. Looks like a good addition for our stable. We'll be posting up more soon.

Thats great! You are making great strides for all of us.
Would a manual tranny work better in the autocross or racing situation? I assumed it would but it seems like u are kicking but and taking names with the 4l60e tranny. I currently have that setup in my truck but was looking to a T56.

This is with a 5.3/4L60E and what rear end gear and size tires? That is VERY respectable mpg in my book . Would make it possible to road trip even if gas is $4/gal!

Re: No Limit '72 C-10

Yes a manual would be better for performance, but this is going to be drivin in So. Cal. traffic. It has 3.73 gears (stock) and a 275/40/18 tire all around, so we can rotate. In June, we will be driving up to Pleasanton with a group from Pro-Touring.com, some on hwy 1, and some on 99, with a trans controller/programmer - looking at the Bully-Dog, we hope to get 24+ on the long sections, but that means no screwin' around, at least on the mileage test

Re: No Limit '72 C-10

The truck seems to be coming along nicely. The A-arm mod is pretty cool, I have my frame rolling with the modified cross shafts. Do you anything on the market for the steering yet like the rack and pinion?

Cool Re: No Limit '72 C-10

Here are some shots of the JT being used as a shop vehicle. First thing this morning I loaded her up with 6 Argon battles and two 30 pound rolls of welding wire. We estimate if a bottle weighs 200 pounds that we had about 1200 pounds in the back of her. You can see in the pictures the rear was sagging a bit. We will fix that next week when the Ride Tech rear air spring setup arrives. Were only installing air springs in the rear for towing and loading purposes only.

Cool Re: No Limit '72 C-10

Second I had to go to powder coat and pick up a small batch of lower a frames. We use precision powder coat here in san bernardino ca. They have great turn around time and great quality. I have never had a complaint with Larry over at Precision Powder Coat. They do a great job and they are very fair on prices.

Re: No Limit '72 C-10

Looks great, love the stance.
Where are the ride-techs going to fit? If they are only going to be used for load hauling purposes, are they going to replace the rear coil spring or are they going to be mounted in an alternate location strictly for overload?

Cool Re: No Limit '72 C-10

The paint is a Sherwin Williams brand and is actually a two stage without the clear coat. I already scratched the tailgate exchanging gas bottles so im pretty sure were going for the patinad shop truck look. I think the white bumpers would look great but the scuff marks from hitting cones and tires on the race track wouldnt look to good. We might go gun metal grey to match the wheels. We are already working on two more auto cross vehicles so the truck may be done the way it sits.

We are going to replace the drop coils with one of Ride Techs cool ride bolt in kits. The overlaod style would be for a guy that doesnt want to run a onboard compressor, tank, and valve ass. We want the smooth ride and on board controls so were swapping metal springs for air springs. happy cruising
