Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb

I was checking out your build and read the part about the tailgate with 10 layers of paint and I have a solution for the next time you run into something like that.
This is a Polycarbide abrasive wheel it will strip, heavy rust, paint, body filler, it tore right through heavy scale rust on my cab and didn't even blink, but it is gentle enough that it won't remove any metal and leaves a nice clean surface.

imgur links will post the pic full size. to make them post smaller, try adding an "m" (medium size), "l" (lowercase "L", large size), or "h" (huge size) at the end of the pic name...

vs
(large, /jRV2Ycxl.jpg)

Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb

Small update, I got my hydro boost adapter plates in from captainfab! He does make some awesome parts! Hoping to get the plumbing done from my new fuel cell to the engine and my power steering/ hydro boost. More updates coming soon.

Exclamation Hydroboost Brakes

I lost faith in these brakes when I I was driving a two year old 3/4 ton Chevy long bed so equipped and I stepped on the brakes in a turn and the P.S. belt snapped, the brakes failed and the truck wanted to go straight in spite of my best efforts .

No, I'm not a little wimpy guy, I'm a 6' tall 200# mechanic .

It scared me witless, I hope your really nice looking modification never does that to you .

The adapter plate looks clean and sanitary .

I've had a few original old tech 'Saginaw Squish' power steering belt failure, in Caddies and other large, heavy vehicles, none made me think I was about to crash .

Re: Project "Nether~Storm" 72 swb

I can understand your point.
It does sound like a risk. but as with everything else, take the leap and pray for the best.
I have no vacuum in my engine, so my choices are limited.
I'm a big guy to, and have had the power steering go out due to a belt, not a fun feeling.
Guess i didn't think about the brakes going out.
Thanks for the thoughts Nate
