Just asking, when you cut the rear coil what holds the spring in place? When I got my truck the PO cut the rears and it bounced all over the place and the coils didn't have a pocket or clip to hold them

Hey Trs, same thing happened with my 63. PO chopped the back coils and the frame just rests on them now instead of being attached to the clamps. Not that that answers your question, but I thought you might like to know that there are more of us back end bouncers out here.

Thanks for letting me know. Made me laugh about the back end bouncers.

Thanks, I'm running p235/75r15. My buddy jusspassnthru is running a smaller tire and it looks lower but I like the bigger tire.

I've also added the custom cab trim piece and dog dish poverty caps since this was taken. I have a few more pictures in my gallery.

Coker 235/70/15, cragar 15x8, cpp 3 inch front drop springs, 5 inch rear. Just got the cpp disc upgrade and drop spindles, probably going to throw a 1" or 2" block out back.

Have a look in the 60-66 FAQ section, you will find all kinds of threads there that will help. Spend some time looking at different options to achieve what you are looking for, many ways to skin the cat. Pretty sure that for the front you will need to go with 2" springs, and 2" or 2-1/2" drop spindles. The rear, 2" springs and 2" blocks would do the trick to.
P.S. When you have questions, you will get plently of help and different kinds of advice, but you should post your question in the right place. This is a "picture thread" so some may get a little cranky to see questions, and requests for advice here.
Welcome to the forum, feel free to PM me if you like, I would be happy to help you learn your way around here.

66 C-10 Small Rake will be going to wider rear and narrower front wheels and tires. A mild Pro Street look.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

My 64 is a back end bouncer for sure. I sold it a while back in pieces, and bought it back as a driving truck the other day. The guy decided to heat the springs with a torch to the point they are almost non existent. New lowering springs are the first thing on my list. Prob a 2-3 drop. Anyone have pics of a 2-3?

I don't understand why guys would cut rear coils or heat them. I got my 4".rear drop coils from CPP delivered for $95.

I have done a 2 1/2 inch drop disc brake front swap on my 64 shortbed with stock front springs. Rear is currently heated stock colis, but I will be mountng 3 inch dropped rear springs next weekend. Tires are 255/60/R15s on polished US Indy slot mags 15 x 7s (front) and 15 x 8 1/2s in the rear.
