I love where this build is going, it's going to be sweet when you are done. Love those big blocks.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
I’ve been draggin’ ass, but I’m on it now. It WILL be done before the new year. Body is off the frame again, but it won’t go back on until chassis is in powdercoat and the interior & firewall will be freshly painted.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
Things have been progressing, just not very quickly or interestingly. But here are a few pics to prove I’m working on him. Got the front clip off and will get started deleting the stock heater box & fan holes and prepping it for paint. Also will be getting the interior metal prepped for paint too.
Also blew the PorterBuilt chassis apart for powdercoat… it’ll be black (original frame & oe brackets) and medium silver (Porterbuilt pieces). Then I’ll get it all reassembled, get the motor & transmission, gas tank air ride pieces in place and then I can build the driveshaft (2-piece) and get the exhaust run. Painless wiring, fit & finish the interior etc etc etc. After putting it in words, it’s a long row to hoe. My mission is to have it finished by 2022. 🤷🏼*♂️ |

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
I’m actually using a oe tilt automatic column that I had rebuilt and painted. It’s an absolute beauty. 70ShortFleet did it.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
My powdercoater has been closed for vacation but he opens back up tomorrow, so I’ll get everything delivered tomorrow.

I got the chassis/frame dropped off at the powdercoater today. He said it should be done this week #fingerscrossed.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
Especially since I’m going with 2 colors and there’s a total of 50 separate pieces that also have to be blasted.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short
WoW!!! Pieces are blasted, powdercoated & home. They look great in person. The silver is a metallic silver and really pops in sunlight. To bad it’ll never really show.

Nice. The contrasting color combo will pop.

Got a little bit of assembly accomplished. The colors really do look fantastic together.
