Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

Thanks, I appreciate it!

After looking at all the billet on that dash, next to the PLASTIC chromed A/C vents, I decided to order a pair of these:

OK, never mind! Just kidding! I called Hot Rod Air to order a pair of those vents. $110.00 EACH, plus shipping. I guess I'll keep the chrome ones for another year or so.......

Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

Well, I got all the components removed from the dash, and got the rest of the perimeter welded up and ground down. Not a lot of progress, but at least now I can start spreading filler and getting the dash ready for primer.

Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

Two months later and two hours of progress made!

Many pages back (I think) I posted some pics of the lack of a gap in the upper rear corners of the door frames. I am pretty sure it had a decent gap all the way around the door frame before.

So, I used one of my old doors that had the same lack-of-gap problem and did some experimenting. I cut out an 1/8" section right in the middle of the bend of the frame and welded it back together. This was the result:

So here is the lack-of-gap on the passenger side door, the process, and the results:

One more pic. The end result is the gap looks much better, and the window rolls up and fits nicely into the frame.

Very nice glock! Seems we always need to tweak these trucks just a little more than what is built in. Real nice work on that door post.

Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

Nope, no new progress. In fact, I'm kicking around the idea of selling or trading it. I just don't have time for it anymore and it is taking up 2 bays. I doubt I could sell it for enough to make it worth it, but if I could find a cherry 81-87 SWB 2wd I would consider it.

Re: Glock's official "Project 68" build thread

Well, this is where my build thread comes to an end. In my last post, I said I would be interested in trading it for a square body.

Square body found, trade deal done:

It's not coming to an end, just changing ownership. We seem to have very similar taste in trucks Bob, so I probably won't be changing alot.
