That was an error on my part when I listed it. I forgot to change international shipping and it automatically reverted to an earlier listing I had.
I sent you a corrected invoice thru eBay.

If this happens to anyone else, you can fix it yourself. In the checkout process, under the price paid you'll see a field "Seller Discounts (-) or Charges (+)" In that field, just put -49.20 (be sure to put the minus (-) mark. And the insurance charge is optional anyway. Just choose no insurance.

And, Thanks for the donation.

Second why not approach a company like Rad Rides or Over Hauling maybe Wyo tech Trucks TV and so on there are all kinds of charities working on this exact thing. I think the truck should be completely done too not pieced together. Maybe she doesn't want it completed, I would! I would think this would be a great thing for her.
The auction doesn't end until Tuesday at 7pm, so we've definitely got a few days to decide. As far as the TV shows go, multiple people, including myself, have contacted them and we haven't heard anything back yet. So, if we don't hear anything back we are probably just gonna do what we can do. It would be great to see her get that truck fixed up right, but unless a TV Show get's involved, or we get about $10k between now and then we are probably just gonna have to go with just getting it on the road. I think that will be very appreciated by Dawn, and she will still be able to work on it with her grandson.

Cool thanks for fixing the shipping. I just bought 2.
Why don't we all contact the a show? Imagine a bunch of requests might get at least a response? What about GM?

Thanks, would you please leave me feedback with your forum name in the response. I don't see turner15 as an eBay buyer. It makes it a whole lot easier to keep track of everyone.
thanks again.

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

Hey Guys, I need a little help.

This is the Vendors page on this site.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/links/browselinks.php?c=2

There are three pages of vendors. Would you guys help me contact these vendors and let them know about this story? I'll start off with the first vendor and we'll just check them off as we contact them.

Just send them something like this:

I noticed you were a site vendor for 67-72chevytrucks.com and I wanted to inform you of a story on the boards about a recent widow. This thread is over 13 pages long, and has over 10,000 pageviews. We started a fundraiser last Saturday and have already raised over $1200 for this lady. If you've benefited from being a board vendor would you kindly consider making a donation, donating parts to fix this lady's 67 SWB, or offering her a gift certificate to purchase parts?

Link to the thread on 67-72chevytrucks.com
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=298883
Link to the Ebay auction where we are receiving donations.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=220275273973

Sincerely,
Your Name
Your Username

You can send me a pm with the information about who you've emailed or post it back here and I will keep track of it. Just start from the top and work your way down. I will handle the first one on the list.

Amazing. I donated before I even finished reading all these pages. Pat yourself on the back Bill, you really went above and beyond. Let me know if there is anything I can do from my corner of VA.

That's a good idea. If you guys are more comfortable contacting specific vendors then by all means go for it. You might get a better response if you have dealt with them before.

It would be great to totaly restore the truck before giving it back but, as was said before unless we get $10k from somewhere it probably won't happen. Besides this truck was her Husbands, if it was road worthy and she could drive it it would give her a sence of pride. It probably wouldn't matter how perfect it was it would be worth it's weight in gold to Dawn and her family.

I think that we should ask Dawn what she wants to do with the money or how she wants to split it up, mabe she would like to put it all it her truck.

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

i met with dawn today and spent about 3 hours with her helping her price some of her parts and talking with her. i have a few pic.s of her 67 that she wants to keep for her and her grandson. i will post them in a little bit. whille we was looking at her other trucks the 4 year old grandson hollowed out the door and ask grandma are you saleing my truck and she told him no she wouldn't saleing his truck. i didn't say anything about what the board and others are doing to help her because i didn't no if anyone had told her or not . i asumed it's a secret. we talked about her plans for the 67 and she said she was thinking of going with a auto. trans. and if she could just get it fixed up enough to be a decent daily driver she would be very happy with it. the truck needs alot of work just to be a daily driver. the ft. fenders need work or replaced. she needs a good swb bed she said she like the stepside beds. her grille has a big dent in it one of her others trucks may have a useable grille. i think she needs a hood i no she needs inner fenders .it was dark in there but i could tell the cab needs alot of work also. so realy about what she has to start with is a eng. cab.and frame. thats what i saw. everyone keep her and her family in your prayers.

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

Bill, you are a good man. Thanks for the time you spent with her. Thanks for the pictures and the info on the 67 too. When I was up there I felt really strange being in her husbands garage. I wanted to take pictures of the stuff in there, but I almost felt like I was intruding. Not because of anything Dawn did or said, but I guess it was just weird knowing this guy accumulated all this stuff and here I am snooping through it. So I just stayed in there a few minutes and came back out.

So, we would need front fenders, transmission, front grill, and a bed? She has two other 68's out there that we might get a grill from, and maybe a hood too. I don't know what kind of tranny's are in the trucks. The 68 stepside is a longbed stepside. Wonder if it could be cut down to a SWB bed? Would really be nice if some vendors saw this and donated some of this stuff. HINT, HINT.

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

From page 3 of this thread:
Dear Zippy dodog, Hi. My name is Tiffany and my sisters name is Becky. Our mom, Dawn had the trucks on auction....Shes pretty shy about people wanting to help her. Overhaulin was one of mom and dads favorite shows and we thought about nominating her also but we didnt have a computer till recently and didnt know how to do it. Even tho theres not much chance the show would accept her we wanted to let yall know that she has a 5th truck in the garage that she would never even think of selling. Its a 1967 chevy short bed. My dad called it ol girl. Their plans were to fix up and sell the other 4 and use the money to restore it. Thats what she was still gonna try to do but she had to buy a better mobile home for her and my grandma and she has to sell the 4 trucks and motors so she can have it moved here. Shes saving some by tearing down an older trailer that was on the spot the newer one nneeds to be set on. Shes doing it every night by hand and scrapping it. She said shes still gonna restore ol girl tho....

And from page 4:
I snuck in the garage while I had the camera and took some pictures of ol girl for you to. Heres what we found out.

It is a 1967 C10 short wheel base.

Its registered to my dad.

She doesnt think the transmission is in it but she wants to have a bulldog ? I think thats what she said.

They traded a 71 they had partialy restored for it a few years ago at a carlot.

There is no bed on it but she would like to put a stepside on it.

She wants it to be original but she doesnt like chrome trim on the body.

She wouldnt chop it or lower it.

She wants the largest tires that would still look good.

She wants to put packs on it so it will be loud?

I asked her what color she would paint it and she said some combination of off white pearl and deep candy apple red. Its not hard to get her talkin about what her and dad were gonna do and she said other things but thats about all I can remember but I hope its enough. If not just let us know...
Tiffany & Becky

So the thing about "ol' girl" is the sentimental value. It may not be the best starting point, but it's the one that means the most to Dawn.

I gotta tell you, looking at the pics Bill took in the garage got to me...he's got his stereo out there, and his goop, with the truck up on stands...but he's never coming back to work on it. It's just all collecting dust. Guys, that coulda been any one of us.

AEE-MEN!

Ok, so now we are getting fired up on the '67 re-build, which i think is great. However, we should not help her to sell anything off just yet, because we don't know what parts she has & needs for the '67......right?
I really think us close guys/gals need to get together for a day & at least sort thru everything & set the '67 parts off to the side. Once that is done, we could focus n a garage sale. We are going to need some of us that have expierence in total builds, & can ID the parts she needs.

she did get her trailer moved fri. she traded a old coin collection and stuff to get it moved. i hope she doesn't mind me shareing that but i though it was something that you all should know. i touched me so i wanted to share it. she was thinking of a standard trans. but she said the way cars get close to you at red lights and stuff she was afraid of letting it roll back into someone with a clutch in it. i just hope if something ever happens to me that i have friends like you all to step up if needed and help my famliy . we never know when this can happen to one of us.

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

Hey guys,

I been thinking while I read through our thoughts.....

I am a project manager by trade, and think of this systematically....

How about we get folks together with specialities....and spread the work
out over several wekeend's....We may not need a lot of $$$$ to do this, but would need folks to volunteer a weekend of their time to help out, PLUS maybe get some donations from vendors and others that want to donate parts to make this happen....

If we decide to do a full blown resto on it, we would need folks to do the
tear apart (bagging all bolts, etc and labeling), need folks with portable
sand blasters to clean up the frame and body as needed, need folks that can do assembly (ie. suspension, engine, tranny, rear end, etc), need folks with body work experience, need folks with paint experience....and so on....everyone bringing the necessary tools for their speciality....

I think it would be easier to get folks together to take on each aspect of the
project each wekend, PLUS Dawn and grandson could help out throughout the process making it there build too.....

In the mean time, we can get folks to go though her stuff to sell, price and picture it, and the sell of the items obviuosly go back to Dawn or to help finance the build....

How's this sound??....As said before...It's like Overhaulin'....Truck board style!!!
