You can find more detail about the rear frame here [url=http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=419251&page=31[/url]. I would like to know more about the front crossmember myself.

Look at this thread starting at post 108. This is how I believe Rob did the front on JT. We need to add pictures of the crossmember back in.

Re: No Limit '72 C-10

Hi Rob, back in post 207, you said you made adapter mounts for the LS engine. In the Street Trucks article, they said you used Energy Suspension adapters. Which one? Do the ES mounts move the engine sufficiently back and down?

Thanks,

Re: No Limit '72 C-10

Hmm, both, I guess. I made my own plates, but they are basically the same as Holley, Trans Adapt, E.S., and others. I did use the normal Energy Suspension mounts for a SBC. I used a pattern that would normally move the motor back some, the square mount plate. - but, since I knew I would have to build custom stands off of the crossmember (raised in the chassis) it just seamed easier. If you are using factory mount stands, choose the plates that keep the motor in the stock location.

Been missing updates on progress on JT. Is it on a side burner now? Will there be any more articles in Street Trucks on its' progress?

Thanks,

Re: No Limit '72 C-10

We just did a bit. Maybe the most noticable changes lately. I hate doing this stuff, (door mechanics/windows) so I tend to drag my feet a bit. It was time for some interior comfort. We put in a simple stereo - really simple. 80w amp, two 6x9's (the doors were already cut, so it seamed like the thing to do), and an input cable for an I-pod, or I-phone. It sounds good, and it only cost about $125. Next we got a door/glass install kit from Brothers Truck parts. I had a spare set of wind wings, so I rebuilt them ahead of time. As we got serious, we pulled the seat, and put a good layer of insulation down, along with a carpet kit (Brothers) Here's a note: get a carpet kit for the correct floor pan in your cab. We had to make two trips to get it right. Then new felts and rubbers in the doors, and rebuilt the O.E. cranks. Last, we painted the door panels to match the interior, and put a layer of dynomat on the inside of the doors and panels. Next will be some kick panels, and a panel for the back of the cab behind the seat. This has make a HUGE difference in the 'drive' experience. The doors shut solid, no rattles, and thecab is much quieter. I'll get some picts up next week.

Rob, I have been putting off buying my purchase of bags for the rear of my truck until I have heard feedback form you on how they run on JT. Could you let us know if you did add the 9000 bags and how they ride and handle vs other bags please?

Re: No Limit '72 C-10

The sway bar mount has it's own plate, the pass side doubles as the panhard rod mount, if you are using ours. Or, it has just a sway bar mount.
