Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

Today was my final day of school.

It's the single most strangest feeling in the world right now, and I truly don't know what to make of it. Right now, the world feels bigger, and people feel farther apart already even though it's only been 6 hours. And knowing that I wont see many makes me sad. I won't be hanging with everyone every day. And many are leaving for a long while.

I won't have the same routine next year, there isn't a summer, christmas, spring break to look forward too (college is undecided right now, dunno what I want to do %100). The fact is, it's an end to something that you can never do again. There's a lot I wish I had and hadn't done. Wish I had done more and tried harder. Did and learned a lot. And senior year has been the best ****ing year ever.

It's weird, things just seem bigger and the world looks different the moment you leave. It's exciting, eye opening, and a reality check. The single greatest and most depressing moment of my life so far, I guess.

To the class of 09!

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

Graduation is a whole group of emotions as well. I just went through it on the 29th, and it was by far one of the most eye opening moments of my life.

Knowing you're probably never going to see a majority of those people again, or if you do it will be seldom and far between, is a reality check. That paired along with the fact that it's what you've worked 13 years for and it all comes to an end with a few speeches, some songs, and prayers.

All you can do now is look back at all the good times and bad times, and revel in the fact that you've made it through each and every one of them. Even though my senior year has had some of the worst moments of my life it's still been by far the greatest time of my life as well. I wouldn't change a thing given the option to.

Well, tomorrow is the last day of tenth grade for me, I can't wait to graduate. My sister just finished her freshman year in college and she likes it so much better. She was the same way as me

My end of 10th grade comes on the 11th. Feels so blasted far away. Graduation is quite a sobering moment I'd think. I think about it from time to time I sure am gonna miss people. At least I've got my truck! Perfect timing too for getting out of school then I'm gonna drop my new engine in woo!

Same deal here! Had to wait for school to get out so I can really work on my truck. Otherwise it was riding the bus. rusty truck that drops number 8 every five seconds due to bad valve seals that oil foul the plugs> bus
But I still have to wait because next week i'll be in on vacation and parts can't sit on the porch The reaction at school when it's finished next year should be worth the wait

texanidiot25, you are so exactly right...it is a terribly strange feeling, its relieving and depressing at the same time. Im not too worried about not seeing the people in my class, they are all a bunch of...well, lets just say I didn't get along with most of them, after all this is a family friendly board!

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

texanidiot you summed up the feelings ive had for a week or so now. grad is still a few weeks away, but im already dreading leaving it all behind, im having a blast, and i never want to grow up

it also doesn't help that i took a job 150 miles away from home this summer, and im staying up where im working the whole summer, making seeing my friends next to impossible for like 2 months, then everyone is packed up and gone.. its all such a bummer. oh well, time goes on..

I'm a senior in high school and i got a 68 long box. As far as i know, there is only one other kid that has a 72. A few kids have 85's and 83's but I'm sure I have the oldest truck at my school.

Re: Calling all high school 67-72 owners!

I used to drive mine to school about 7 years ago and I also drove an all original 61 Cadillac. All the girls always wanted to get rides in the Cadillac, but this one day I was driving the truck and I offered to give this girl a ride home and she said "okay, what car are you driving?" I pointed to the truck and she said, "no thanks"

I got good and bad attention, depends on folks tastes. It's about 90% good attention. The truck sticks out. I was 20 miles from home, and then the next day two girls outside the taco bell near me recognized it as my friends and I were hanging out..

Funny stuff.

I saw a pretty fine high school age girl today in katy. She drove a 71-72 4x4 long bed in flat black. Why can't girls like that go to my school?

This is my truck I rebuilt with my dad and had through high school, class of 2005. Everything was done by us, and was a painful process but well worth it. Enjoy
