Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
I havent got much... peeled the cover back on it for the first time a couple days ago. Yikes. Dust from the plasma cutter. Had to upgrade my plasma. The lincoln would stop working. (mother board failure) apparently common with Lincolns...? Returned it and came home with a Miller Xtreme 625. Real impressed so far. Built a website for this flower/memorial thing I'm messing with. Xmas orders all done... should be able to get some truck time again now.

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
Congrats! I quit cold turkey back in 86 and the 3rd week was just a killer! made it 2 years then a scary rough night in the Puget Sound straits in a 30' bow picker led me to smoke another, slowly back to a pack a day then quit again cold turkey back in 90. I have been smoke free every since! Hopefully like me you will begin to hate the smell of second hand smoke and never go back.
I still like my beer on occasion too.

I'm doin the e-cig/vaping thing. Easiest I've had it as far as quitting goes. Still get some nicotine... Keeps the hissy fits at bay. Lol. I could start again quite easily... Doesn't stink yet. Ugh. I was well over a pack a day when workin in the shop. (And they're $16 a pack up here!)

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
Sooo....a few updates, a few beer again. Finally got my hands on a dipstick tube and flexplate cover for my TH400. Yup. Almost a year to find them. Unreal. Used to be everywhere... gettin harder to find. Went with a Holley blue fuel pump/reg set-up, wiring complete and tested. (built the harness), Derale engine temp controller installed, Hurst line lock plumbed/wired in. Tested and works, robbed the dual horns from my '63 caddy and wired in, had to make up a set of power steering hoses. Pump from an '81 (uses o-rings) and steering box uses double flare fittings... ugh. Hood gauges wired up, mini gear drive starter in and wheels engine over like crazy, and spent an evening hand polishing over spray off inner fenders. Maguires medium cut cleaner rips it off like nothin i"ve seen.

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
Made a small switch panel for elec fan bypass switches, line lock, fuel pump, and nitrous! Windshield washer from an early 90's truck installed.. spent 2 days makin tranny cooler lines. Was fighting with it kinking, etc. Noticed it was squared off. ugh

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
Thanks! I have never seen an entire roll of tubing squared like that before. It would kink using tubing benders. Forget tryin to get a nice double flare in it. Unreal. Spent an hour or two under the truck on a creeper with a set of wrenches, lookin for loose bolts, clamps, etc, before I fire it up. I'm glad I did that. Lol. Driveshaft and exhaust are next. The tranny has a fixed rear yoke... Need a shaft built with an integral slip spline shaft in it I guess. (Otherwise no slip in driveline at all)

Re: Project NiteMare-1970 C10 LWB build
Hey thanks! It's called metal jeweling. Do it with some of the other artsy stuff I waste time on. Real easy to do. Some use a piece of aluminum dowel in a drill press, I used a mini 3m die grinder pad (course) in the drill press. Mark a grid on metal so swirls intersect with eachother. Lots of different techniques or different looks. Videos online if u search metal jeweling.
