Rob,
I was doing the final install on my rack kit today and I’m having problem with the fit of the aluminum clamp. With the aluminum clamp tourqed and the rubber in-between it and the rack is not tight. I can jiggle the rack with the clamp fully tourqed. I have one of the first kits. The aluminum is bore too big are the rubber is not thick enough?

Not looking so good. Due to the size of the A-arm bushing, we would be forced to move the rack up or forward way to far out of the 'sweet spot'. This causes bumpsteer, and/or interferance with the oil pan/balancer. we looked at spacing the lower arm down, and while this helps in the IFS geometry, it costs ground clearance, so, not so good for lower trucks, which is almost everyone. So, it looks like A-arms are the solution

I have sent you a couple PMs about this problem but no reply. You can see my first post from 03-15-2012. there are thick and thin bands for the racks. You should have recieved both in the kit. If no, we will be glad to send you the thick band. Please call the shop monday and we'll get it right out to you.

Hmmm, I do some RHD stuff, but not the rack for this. At this point I don't know of any rack I could use for this at the moment.

Rob, how is this kit for trucks with air ride?
I have a 79 Chevy C-10 with Ridetech Airbags and upper and lower tube control arms and CPP dropped spindles I currently have the Flaming River bolt in Rack and Pinion Kit and.......well it sucks........ Where the rack mounts to the frame it places the tie rods further forward then the tie rod mount on the spindle which puts them on a about a 25-30 degree angle backwards, not up and down but backwards. (see picture) This screws with the toe huge. It is almost impossible to get the toe properly adjusted because every time the air ride is adjusted it throws the toe back out. Does your kit have this same issue It`s to the point where I can`t drive it and was ready to go back to a normal steering box just so I could enjoy my truck that I built. Thanks

Wow, interesting picture. Air ride is no problem for our kit, but I have some 'warnings' for you. We have test fit our P/S rack with RideTech arms - no problems. But, we have NOT tested with a RideTech sway bar. Our Tie rod end fits to the bottom of the steering arm (on the spindle) and there may be some interferance with the RideTech sway bar - maybe not. If so, this can be solved by making the 'link' longer (a piece of allthread will do this). Next, the top rail on a 73-87 is a bit on the narrow side. We have a different bearing mount plate for these trucks. It can be boltd in, but I suggest welding. Other than that, no problems.
