Re: 67c10 build
Not sure if I mentioned but I scored front and rear bumpers from out last swap meet. The guy I bought them from has a business out of California and travels to swap meets. There original gm bumpers rechromed. The quality is excellent and very happy with them. The re pop rear I had was really grainy and looked like the back had no chrome so looked like it would be a place for rust.

Finally was able to get the truck to the exhaust shop. Didn't realize how much I had to do just to get it trailer ready

Re: 67c10 build
Doesn't show much here but went with dual 50s and 2 1/2" pipe. I couldn't take not knowing what it sounded like so I hooked up and ignition and fired it up. It sounds perfect to me, very throaty sound and no pop/crackle

Re: 67c10 build
Just uploading this to show the difference in the next pick. This is the second time I put this on a trailer. Almost 2 years since I bought it.

Re: 67c10 build
Thanks, if all goes as planned I hope it will be in the paint shop sometime in September.
Have a few little things I'm trying to do before then. I'm really worried I'm going to miss something and realize it after paint.

Re: 67c10 build
Haven't done anything too crazy lately. Got my wing windows disassembled and sent the pieces off to get re chromed. Thanks to roger Koop and his reference I saved over 300 dollars using his chromer. Also took my buddy bucket seat frame and center compartment down to get powdercoated. I still can't completely commit myself to a paint color. It's to the point it stresses me out and I don't even want to work on the truck. Hopefully I can get some pictures up of some progress by the end of the week.

Re: 67c10 build
Sounds like you better go the plasti dip route for now. Just kidding, you will figure it out, your build is looking awesome, I don't think a color could down play what you have done. Keep at it.

Re: 67c10 build
Whatever you do don't follow my lead, I change my mind about colors more then I change my boxers seriously though, any color you choose will look awesome on your truck.

Re: 67c10 build
i think whatever color you decide with your wheels and that trim it will really bring it out. have you narrowed the colors down any ? truck is looking good by the way.

Re: 67c10 build
Well if it makes you feel better, there's been been 47 years for people to put on every color there is on the 67, so trying to be different and "original" when it comes to paint I these trucks is very very hard. So just go with what you like regardless of if there's another 67 out there with that color

Re: 67c10 build
I wish I had some cool pictures and tons of updates but not a lot has been going on. I attempted to re build a set of wing windows that wound up in the garbage can. Even bought a set of re pops after hearing positive reviews on counter part wing windows. They look really nice but the fit was poor and at the top I could between the vertical bar and the weather stripping. So I should of saved myself the stress and money and contacted roger. He's got some ready but only in tinted class so I'm gonna hold out a few weeks till he gets a clear set built. Any day now I should be taking my truck to paint. I'm still leaning more towards green and white. I've got it envisioned in my head and it looks pretty sweet. I'm definitely going for an old man truck that's bagged. I'm going somewhere crazy with my build though... It's gonna have an in cab tank, heater box and even the original am radio! Oh yeah I said it.

Re: 67c10 build
Isn't light green a hard sell?
I've never been a used car salesman but it just seems like to me it would be hard to sell a light green anything, car, truck, van, motorcycle, boat, heck a golf cart for that matter I know you have no intention of selling it but life happens and if something were to happen won't it be super hard to get someone to pay top dollar for a light green truck? Just sayin, don't shoot the messenger. |
