Re: I'm one of you guys now
You don't have any rust "above" the rear wheels?

Re: I'm one of you guys now
No problem man!
In 77 or 78 they changed the tops of the fenderwells and made bigger holes for the water and stuff to drain out. So you don't really see rust there as much as you did in the earlier trucks. |

Re: I'm one of you guys now
more, I got the extra large cab corners from MGBMike awhile back. I didn't need all the replacement corner on this side so I used some of it to patch the inner cab corner where it was rusted out. It doesn't look to bad, but it was quite a ***** to get the compound curves close enough for me to be happy with it. That just tells me that I need some more practice
still need to replace the driver's side...I don't know how this crumple happened

Re: I'm one of you guys now
Sorry i didn't get any finished pics...I will get some tomorrow...
I decided to pull the carpet to do the corners...look what I found I knew the passenger's floor had some "issues", but i didn't know how bad it was. The metal, what there is left, is super thin......guess i will be doing the floor soon so let this be a lesson to all.....if your heater core springs a leak, fix it sooner than later and pull out the floor covering to clean and dry it or this will happen to you too

Re: I'm one of you guys now
nice job Joe. that floor looks a little familiar. sorry to see it was worst than you thought. Great progress though!
I just recieved my floor panel from captkaos. It looks big enough to replace that entire side. Cheap too...

Re: I'm one of you guys now
Good think I haven't rode with you in it yet. I would have had to Flintstoned it! Corner looks good man. Get cracking on that thing so you can replace the rear lip of my bed fenders.

Re: I'm one of you guys now
Yeah both sides of the bed behind the rear wheels has some rust in it. So get to cracking on that thing so we can get these trucks done. I also have just a little rust in the bottom of the driver's door. but it's not that bad.

Re: I'm one of you guys now
buy 4 of the bed patches and we will have a marathon patch session
here is a couple finished pics. it is just in primer. it will need a skim coat of filler or glaze to smooth it out completely
