The real question is, Do you have enough room for my stuff?

I'll bring my camera to cruise night tomorrow night and see if we can get pics afterwards, besides Michelle wants to look at that bus.

Re: 66 slammed hearse

As far as a top of the line prop coffin, I would build the frame from 1" angle aluminum and skin it in 1/4" lauan plywood. The curved surfaced top would be fashioned from a slab of carvable polyurethane foam. The entire outer wood and foam surface would then get a layer of fiberglass cloth and resen finished off with skim coats of bondo, sanded, primed and painted. Nickel plated accent handles and trim would then be attached. If the inside were to be finished out I would cut panels of coreplast lightweight plastic to match the top, bottom and sides. I would then cut and glue in 1" to 2" thick pillow foam sheets to match the shape. These would be covered in a red velvet-like material and matching velvet buttons would be punched through. This is top of the line mind you and would cost $3000-$3500. Then again a simple old fashioned classic wood coffin could be made entirely of wood and painted black for about $500.

Re: 66 slammed hearse

Well our second cruise nite was a big success! we had about 8 cars show up and I was representing our class of trucks with the hearse. I know Mr. passthebuck took pictures, so its on him to get them up. We had a nice mix of beautiful paint to rattle can paint to rust rods on display in the Arctic circle parking lot.

Jared and I are going to take pics of the new home of KD rodworks tomarrow afternoon. Its a little rough, just like everything else I own. But it will be getting the KD treatment very soon.....now what have I done with the custom painted kitchen appliances?

Re: 66 slammed hearse

Speedway does not sell a spindle for that app, as far as I know. Check it out for your self www.speedwaymotors.com
On the subject of LED lights, I would love to stay out past dark and get those pics for ya RL, but I am still having charging problems, so I have to be home before dark or the burban dies and there I sit. I will get my offical/unoffical picture taker guy to address this problem asap(thats you Jared) So maybe this weekend I can make that happen for ya.

I also made another change to the Rat build, I decided that 350 cid was not near enough to get my blood pumpin, so 427 cid with 3 dueces later, I may have barely enough to raise my heartbeat. I will be setting it between the rails this weekend, pics to follow soon after(Jared thats you again) It ought to fill the windshield up nicely with the 3 dueces and some loud as hell zoomie lake pipes sticking out the side. I got to stop talking about it, my pants are getting tight in front.

As much as I'd love to tell you to switch to big boy britches and stay out and play I understand. Being sidelined in the dark isn't as much fun as one might expect. Not like I haven't seen 'em on a ton of other cars anyway.

At least you're out driving yours, all of my stuff is getting mothballed for the time being due to lack of funds or parts. Just had to shell out $128 to renew my CDL that I don't even use. might be good to have though if I'm ever looking for work again. seems somebody always needs something hauled and I do have access to a KW and flatbed that is just sitting.

You're going to need some intake spacers if you're puttin a tri-power intake on that engine Derric.

He might have a trick up his sleeve....
speedway sells a tripower adapter that bolts right up to a 4bbl intake...

Re: 66 slammed hearse

Yep, truck motor. I am not sure if its a tall deck yet, but the captain is right, I may need intake spacers. I am going to change the intake to a performer and then put the adapter on top of that. If I do it that way, I can still use HEI. The regular 3 duece intake doesnt accept HEI. Anyone got any spacers laying around? The price was right, considering it has been well maintained and never rodded, FREE! It came out of a rolled over tater truck last fall from work.

Just remember that the tall deck distributors are longer than the ones for the regular V8's

I am pretty sure its a regular deck. I havent got the intake off or pulled the distributer yet, but just looking at it. As soon as I know for sure I will let everyone know.
And remeber its cruise nite! If you are in eastern idaho, come on over to arbys in rexburg at 7:00pm tonite and join in the fun. Pics to follow, Joe and Jon.......

Yep, Jared is right. Hopefully the bank moves a little quicker so I can move in!

Got the big block in the rat today, Im kinda under the gun because my body man is moving away and taking all of his cool tools with him. So I got to get as much as I can done between now and monday. We have also been working on Jareds skylark, Its on the frame rack getting pulled in new directions. I also picked up the rearend for the rat, will be putting it in tomarrow and getting the rat on its own feet. So I am getting closer to the end on this project, still have to wire it, plumb the brakes and fuel system, mount the fuel tank, mount the battery box, finish the steering, install the pedals, plumb the clutch, burn in the body mounts and bolt it down, build a floor and firewall, install the radiator and cooling system, build the loud as he** zoomie headers, install the throttle pedal and linkage, install gauges, install glass, reinstall the door latches and window regulators. figure out a shifter for the saginaw, french the taillights, install the wiper motor and 1 wiper, finish the body work, rebuild the carbs, get a driveshaft built, install the calipers and rotors/hubs, find some tires and wheels, install the clutch, hmmmm did I forget anything? Pics should be up soon, I knoe Jared took some of the new engine. And yes, captainfab and Jon were right, it is a tall deck. So I need some intake spacers, anybody got some? I also need a short waterpump for a bbc? More updates and pics thru the weekend. I am taking my lil boy camping sunday afternoon, so all work stops at about 5:00pm
