Re: 1966 C10 Project Truck
Well, before you judge take a look at the hand placement and the glove fitment. I will agree that in most cases you don't want to wear gloves while operating a drill press but in this case it wasn't a problem. Gotta be somewhat smart and aware when you are running tools, plus in our family the fingers grow back.

Re: 1966 C10 Project Truck
Good advice to not wear gloves while operating any piece of machinery. Now in reality the truth be told you shouldn't wear loose clothing. AKA hoodies with tie strings are famous for strangulation. Baggy shirts or loose fitting cover-alls are also not recommended. That leaves us with some skin tight shirts and skinny jeans...……… Gonna take my chances cause one look at me in a skin tight shirt in them skinny jeans and someones gonna have an up-chuck reflex... LOL Going back to work on the 66' in my everyday street clothes. carry on!

Re: 1966 C10 Project Truck
Got some garage time on the old girl over the weekend and took advantage of every minute! Saturday night, I finished up the motor and Sunday my dad came by to help organize the garage a little bit, run to get parts I needed and work towards getting the motor and tranny in the frame. I cut the floor out for the SloshTubz high hump tunnel and then we attempted to get the transmission mated to the engine but soon realized that I have the wrong pilot bearing. I picked up the right one today so maybe I will have that together tonight and in the frame tomorrow night. We have had nice weather again so I'm itching to get the truck back on the road!

The best part of the weekend though was watching my fiance drive her Grand Wagoneer project off the trailer, check out that smile!

Re: 1966 C10 Project Truck
Got the right pilot bearing yesterday so I swapped that out last night and even got the tranny bolted up to the motor. Good progress last night! Tonight, I will be getting everything back in the frame so I can measure for the driveline and get that done. I have a tune appointment on the 30th so I gotta have it all back together for that.
I made this tool when I first built the truck, it just waits in the toolbox until it's time to come play Tranny mounted up! I also got my SloshTubz high hump tunnel yesterday, I was impressed with the fitment for being fiberglass, great product! |

Re: 1966 C10 Project Truck
275/40-18 tires on 18x9 0 offset wheels. They are super snug on the back, normal driving they don't rub but I rub a fair bit when I'm driving with spirit. Hoping the larger rear sway bar I have will help that a little bit.

Re: 1966 C10 Project Truck
Worked on the truck a lot over the weekend and finally got to hear its heartbeat again . Still a few smaller things to tidy up but for the most part, it's ready for a test drive and the dyno on Saturday, can't wait!
My fiance Sam helped me out quite a bit with the front clip and bleeding the clutch, she is the best! A box of not fun, had to modify my y-pipe to clear the new location of the transmission mount. Wasn't too bad but I am not thrilled with it so I'll change it up later when I tuck the exhaust up. Also had to c-notch my seat bracket for the new shifter location, my gas bottle was on fumes before I started but somehow it lasted for both projects And now the video of the first start up and the nice little lope that it has, I'm super stoked! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B55SahoI0b8 |

Re: 1966 C10 Project Truck
I can finally start working the bugs out on this thing! My fiance and I took it to Costco last night to get a battery for our Grand Wagoneer project and the truck is starting to learn the new cam. I have a knock sensor code right now so I will get both of them replaced this week. Other than that, it drives really well and I'm super happy for this summer!

Re: 1966 C10 Project Truck
Got it dyno tuned recently for the new cam and ended up putting down 340HP and 335 Torque, not too shabby for a junkyard motor!

Re: 1966 C10 Project Truck
Wow, awesome truck. One of my favorites on here.
On a side note, I used to go to PRE quite often for work. Didn't know they did any tuning on LS stuff.
