Re: 66 slammed hearse

I'm back!!!! I didnt go far, I have been busy trying to get the new KD Rodworks shop up and running. With the help of Jared, we are gaining ground. I know he has a bunch of pics to post, The hearse's debut car show and the open headers I cant bring myself to plug. Load and scary! Also the model t is gaining some ground. I think he has pics of that too. I have got some help with my site as well, I am trying to get some pics and info on that.
I also am honored to be nominated for TOTM, Thanks to all who voted for me, and dino, Its hard not to vote for his crewcab! I love that thing.
Pics of the new shop on the way!(jared thats you dude, get to work!)

Re: 66 slammed hearse

I actually tried to buy a panel truck that was originally the town mortuary truck for Huntingdon, Quebec. This was a really nice GMC chrome everything on it. After it was decomissioned, they used it as an Ambulance. The owners wouldn't sell it and it eventually went for scrap. Such a waste.

Re: 66 slammed hearse

Forgive me chevy owners, for I have sinned. It has been about 2 months since my last post.

IIIIIII'mmmmmmm BBBBBBBAAAACCCCKKKK!!!!!!

'ol kd is still alive and dealing with the life I lead, hasent killed me yet! I have been working on my house and once again moved the shop to a new location, with the help of my right hand man Jared. The two of us have been hording parts and picking over the wrecking yards for neat little trinkets of GM glory. I figured it was time I made an appearance and let everyone know Im ok.

Re: 66 slammed hearse

I love this build.

May I ask: What did you do to fill the rear window opening?

I just got a Carryall and I REALLY like the "half panel" look.

I just cut some 16 gauge to fit the edge of the window rubber channel and spot welded it from the inside about every inch. It fit really well and is flush with the glass channel, It almost looks stock. The sliders are going away in favor of soild side glass. The inside is going to be a differant story, it will end up with alot of hardwood and satin curtains. It will be a funeral ready hearse with rollers and lock to carry a full size casket if I ever have to tote one of my friends to the graveyard. It has a full size hand built wooden "toepincher" style coffin in it right now thats a cooler/candy box for halloween.

I would also like to let all my friends know that ol' KD is doing ok, I cant get on the board as often as I like to keep you all updated. I am doing well and got custody of my lil boy Gauge. I am finally divorced and she DIDNT get the burban! I want to thank all of my close buddies from this board (you all know who you are, RLC, JCS, J231, CFAB, S70B) for all of the kind words and support thru my nightmare divorce! You are all great people and I am honored to call everyone of you my friend!

I know that is right, never thought it would be this bad, my dad still drives. He got sick of the lack of freight and is now driving for the oil field

Re: 66 slammed hearse

Got me some new goodie for the hearse to give it a new attitude, and get it closer to the weeds. Runninlo hook me up once again with some air system parts to help complete the future bag job. Its not going to be a hopper or a dragger, but it should layout in the parking lot and be plenty low. I cant really do a huge notch in the rear and keep it as a work ready funeral truck. Got a nice little tank and compressor that should tuck up nice under the floor to keep it all hidden.
