Re: Crash's 72 K10
I went to buy some supplies at my local paint supply store(primer,POR15,more sandpaper, etc. etc) and he recommended 3M brand All-around Autobody sealant #08500 it is in a caulking tube it is white. The guy says it's paintable, it wont harden like a rock but it will stay pliable somewhat? he said quite a bit harder than say RTV sealant.if thats any kind of reference? I will be getting my bed floor sandblasted probably next week then POR15 then assemble it. I'll try it and let you know how it goes.

Re: Crash's 72 K10
Awesome inspiring work as always!
are you looking for the round clips that go on the rods to retain them to the levers on the heater controls?? I think a have a few 50 or so NOS ones I could donate a few to you.

Re: Crash's 72 K10
Back at it this morning.. Flipped the bed floor over and cleaned the bed to prep it for the epoxy primer..
Sprayed the primer.. I reduced it more than I did on the cab.. Seemed to help a lot.. I worked out a lot of dents in the floor but stopped when I realized the pitting in the floor will reguire me to use a spray on bed liner to make it look right.. Then I fired up the sand blaster and started on the front of the bed and the rear inner fenders.. After that I started on the cowl piece.. Not sure what type of paint they had on this.. but the sand blaster had problems cutting it.. I will use the DA to finish it…. My goal now is to get rid of all of the yellow (original color).. I think all I have left is the bedsides and the tailgate… Tomorrow I will start on working the dents out of the rear inner fenders…

Re: Crash's 72 K10
These ?? Just tell me how many you need. PM me an address or ph number if you want to pick them up. No payment required for a fellow Okie. Looks like I was a little late or I could have gave you part of my old bed floor also. Mine has rot in the front and I just got another swb steel floor.

Re: Crash's 72 K10
My bed had some pitting, I went with a color matched spray in bedliner. Looks great, thats the way you should go.

Re: Crash's 72 K10
Update from last Sunday..
Rebuilt the Fan Switch.. Started on the inside of the rear fender wells. The sand blaster could not cut the old factory weatherproofing. I used heat and a scrapper to cut the heavy stuff.. Then used some thinner to finish up. This weekend I will finish sand blasting the tailgate, and bed sides.. then epoxy prime..

Re: Crash's 72 K10
Glad they worked out for you, I have plenty more gathering dust if you ever need more. Progress looks great. Might need to get myself a torch for the undercoat removal, looks like it worked well.

Re: Crash's 72 K10
It works well.. but it is slow.... after you get the thick stuff off.. then use somehting like thinner to cut the rest of it... once again thanks..

Is that the controls that come with vintage air? I love the factory look.
